ON OUR RADAR: CAMERON HARDY
Introduce yourself!
I’m Cameron Hardy, thanks so much for chatting with me.
How would you describe your music to a potential listener?
Electronic pop, put simply. I want people to be able to vibe and really feel something with my music.
How do you feel your music has progressed since you’ve started? Have there been any setbacks that you wish to share?
It’s been a really long journey already, I started when I was around 12 years old. My sound really progressed the most when I started writing my own music.
Which tracks are you most proud of to date and why?
‘Perfume’ is my favorite, for sure. It was the first song I had ever written on and there’s just something about the vulnerability and passion that I poured into it that makes it so special.
Where do you feel your band fit in in an ever changing and demanding music scene?
I think I’ll let my listeners decide that one. I just make the music that feels the most genuine to me.
Do you have any tips for keeping your mental health in check throughout this period of time?
Talk about it! The more you’re able to lay out there, the better you’ll feel. I’m really fighting to end the stigma around mental health, and I think just starting a conversation about it is one of the biggest pieces of the puzzle.
What issues are important to you? How do you use your music and platform to communicate these?
Definitely mental health. Vulnerability. I want to bring light to these situations in my music and throughout my platform.
What are your top 3 albums at the moment?
Cosmic by Bazzi, Planet Her by Doja Cat, and of course Sour by Olivia Rodrigo.
What’s one song you wish you could have written?
‘Cartier’ by Bazzi.
If you could tour with anyone, who would it be?
So many people come to mind. Madison Beer would be dope, I have mad respect for her creativity and journey as an artist.
What should your fans be expecting from you in the near future?
I’m so excited to finally have ‘Perfume’ out and I definitely plan on having another single or two out by the end of the year.
