TENSIDE - GLAMOUR & GLOOM
Following a huge tour with Killswitch Engage, metal four-piece Tenside are releasing a brand new album. Continuing with their thunderous energy and sound which has been shown off at various metal festivals across Europe and Asia as well as sharing stages with the likes of Trivium, Tenside step it up a gear with Glamour & Gloom.
As opposed to previous material which has covered an entire spectrum of sounds including brutal screaming, cleaner vocals, and face melting riffs, Tenside have now formed their definitive sound. The album starts off slow with a melodic riff paired with a sludgy bass before launching into a frenzy of euphonious chaos. Daniel Kuhlemann’s vocals are well rehearsed and produced, standing proud next to anthemic choruses.
While the world is a beautiful place at times, like the album title suggests, it’s hard to stay level headed while seeing the news and the impact of greed and selfishness. ‘It’s time people started to care for eachother now more than ever before. It’s time for a change.’ says Kuhlemann. ‘Cannibals’ expresses this disgust and frustration at world affairs through hearty growls and menacing riffs alongside repeat chants of “They don’t care.”
Glamour & Gloom is progessive and definitive but it is enough to push Tenside to headline a stage that they once supported? The album tour will certainly put it to the test.
