The Smashing Pumpkins show in Philadelphia at The Wells Fargo Center was a show not to miss. To get a chance to combine the atmospheres of the Philadelphia Phillies Game 3 of the NLCS and the incredible and dedicated Pumpkins’ fans was incredible.
Frontman and lead singer Billy Corgan, being a big fan of the Chicago Cubs, had many comments made relating to the game going on across the street at Citizens Bank Park. The show itself was electric, showing off a fantastic light show and a 50+ foot LED screen to wrap it all together. Playing some of their top hits within the first five songs, the Pumpkins had their crowd wrapped around their fingers and begging for more.
Songs such as; ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’, ‘Today’ and ‘1979’ stand at the top of the band’s list as some of their most popular pieces. As a Pumpkins fan myself, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing frontman Billy Corgan, age 55, sound almost exactly the same as he did when the band formed back in 1988.
