On October 14th, The Home Team absolutely killed their performance in Atlanta, Georgia at the Masquerade (Heaven).

Coming in from Seattle, WA, this 4-piece band: Brian Butcher (vocals), John Baran (guitar), Ryne Olson (bass), and Daniel Matson (drums) brought their pop-punk sound down to the south with Taylor Acorn in support of the dual headlining tour of With Confidence and Real Rriends.

As many bands that have shown up in the scene recently, a lot of their support and recognition comes from the app TikTok. A few months ago The Home Team blew up on TikTok with their song 'Watching All Your Friends Get Rich', which lead to their following and leading popularity. In early 2018, The Home Team signed with Revival Recordings and released their debut label single, ‘Fashion Forward’. Since then they have released two albums, Better Off (2018) and Slow Bloom (2021, recorded with Issues’ former bassist Skyler Acord) which have been hits with millions of streams on Spotify.

The band has been touring consistently since 2014 when they dropped their EP Black Sheep, but they have now made a name for themselves and are playing much larger venues and cities. They played their largest concert yet in Atlanta, GA on Friday night and completely demolished the stage.

To start off the band came out instantly giving 100 percent energy from their first song all the way to their final words of goodbye. The interaction with the crowd was stellar, asking fans to jump with them, crowd surf, and mosh gave the impression to the audience of genuine enjoyment from the band members.

Their setlist consisted of ten incredibly chosen songs: ‘Right Through Me’, ‘Scary Movies’, ‘Slow Bloom’, ‘She’s Quiet’, ‘Move It or Lose It’, ‘Fashion Forward’, ‘Eat You Up’, ‘On’, ‘FOMO (Bored Of You)’,and ‘Watching All Your Friends Get Rich. Each one of these songs kept the crowd off their feet and screaming every lyric word for word.

The lead singer Brian Butcher’s vocals were not only very strong and clear to understand, but he kept the energy of the crowd up, even though he was focused on his very demanding musical runs. All of the members of the band gave their total attention and energy into their performance although their performance is physically demanding, yet they did not disappoint.

Along with the energy of the band members, the choices on lighting enhanced the experience and the emphasis that the band wanted to bring across to the crowd. They never let the crowd catch a breath, but instead kept everyone from the front barricade to the back wall engaged and waiting for what they will play next. At the end of their time on stage they thanked Atlanta profusely for making their dreams come true and being so excited to see them. After the entire concert was over the entire band came out to meet their fans, but little to their surprise they were met with a long line of fans eager to meet them. With every aspect of their show combined The Home Team did not come to play around, they wanted you to remember their name and become invested in the band.

Bringing energetic performances, incredible stage presence, and overall great sounding music, The Home Team will be the next band to get big and blow up. Overall they brought their finest with an unforgettable and outstanding performance.
