New York natives For Lack of a Term are an alternative punk rock four-piece known for their unique live sound and energy. Starting back in 2014 by frontman Ryan Dempsey and drummer Chris Beairsto, the band line-ups have changed but the heart of the band have remained, enhancing their sound.

The band are back with a brand new single ahead of the release of their upcoming album, Welcome To Your New Normal, which drops December 7th. Inspired by a popular quote from cult TV show Friends, For Lack if a Term are here to tell you that some relationships aren’t worth saving.

‘I’m Sorry, Did My Back Hurt Your Knife?goes out to anyone who had a friendship or partnership end prematurely. Sometimes bonds need to be severed and when that happens without proper closure, you can be left with things that still need to be said. This song feels like that last line before you truly end a chapter with someone.explains drummer Chris Bearisto.

Vocalist Ryan Dempsey describes the song as being “about a betrayal I never saw coming and the death of a friendship. While romantic relationships fall apart all the time, no one really talks about the seemingly bottomless void left behind as a result of a decade-long friendship reaching a definitive conclusion.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s single release, For Lack of a Term will be randomly giving away a merch bundle. You can enter by pre-saving ‘I’m Sorry, Did My Back Hurt Your Knife?’ and sharing a screenshot with the band by tagging them on any social media platform. Pre-save it here
