From the first note, Cage the Elephant commanded the stage at Ameris Bank Amphitheater with an electric energy that never wavered. All of the openers set the tone for this same energy and did a wonderful job preparing the crowd for Cage the Elephant to perform. Girl Tones had a great chill set as people arrived that still brought a unique vibe. BAKAR had a fun set that allowed to the audience to hear his new songs and sing with him when covering popular songs. Young the Giant brought a very high energy performance that was the perfect complement to Cage the Elephant. They sang their biggest hits and had the attention of everyone there.
When Cage the Elephant took the stage, every song felt bigger than the last, grabbing the audience’s attention and steadily increasing the fun! The lead singer’s voice was raw and powerful, perfectly complemented by the talented band. The way they interacted with the crowd, even singing right into the pit, was unmatched. The crowd was completely engaged, singing along to every lyric, jumping with every beat. Not one person was off their feet! At times, it felt like the entire audience was moving as one unit with all hands in the air.
Cage the Elephant’s lighting and stage design only enhanced the experience, with dramatic moments that matched the peaks of the setlist perfectly. The fire roaring up during the best parts of each song was so mesmerizing to watch! Every flame, every transition was met with roars from the crowd. They owned the stage with such a raw intensity that felt almost larger than life. The lead singer had a fall on stage that resulted in him hurting his ankle, but he didn’t let it stop him from performing his heart out on all of the following songs! It genuinely seemed like no one wanted the night to end. By the time it was over, it was clear that this was not just a concert, it was an unforgettable experience, leaving everyone buzzing long after the final song. It was the kind of night that reminds you why live music is irreplaceable.
